About us
“Carry upon hands”…….. How did you come up with that name? Well, actually not that crazy at all. You're embracing someone you respect. Someone who is something, someone who does something, someone who experiences something for which he or she deserves respect.
The Foundation wants to show that respect. Oh no, it is impossible to serve everything and everyone who deserves that respect. That is why the Foundation focuses - and that objective has already been formulated broadly - primarily on those people who are persecuted for their religious beliefs and are therefore unable to provide for their own basic livelihood. This concerns food, shelter, medical care and education.
The secondary goal of the Foundation is to support information and education projects in those areas where poverty is prevalent due to a lack of education. This poverty can also be a reason for not being able to provide for one's own basic needs.
The Foundation is wary of the reach of the organizations and individuals who persecute others for their religious beliefs. That is why the Foundation limits itself to requests for help for persons and projects, which are submitted by a natural person living in the Netherlands with a permanent place of residence or residence. This can be persons with Dutch nationality, but also persons with a residence permit for a definite or indefinite period.
In all cases, these persons must motivate the request for help and convince the board of the reliability of the request for help.
The establishment of the Foundation did not come out of the blue. For several years, what have now become the board members, have been providing financial support to various people for food, shelter, medical care, information and school attendance. In addition, building a “safehouse” has been made financially possible. Because tensions are rising sharply in the region where we support (for example the Taliban in Afghanistan), we expect a (strong) growth in requests for help.
By setting up the Foundation, we therefore want to increase support, so that requests for help can be answered as much as possible. be honored if possible.
The Foundation is applying for ANBI* status. The advantage of this status is that organizations and individuals can deduct their donations from the Dutch Tax Authority. This also releases the Foundation from the obligation to pay tax on gifts and donations. In addition, the work of the Foundation is checked by the ANBI status.
